$2000 Presented to Spalding Hall
Two thousand dollars was presented to Spalding Hall Restoration Fund on behalf of the IND Alumni. A one-thousand dollar donation was also made to John Coulter for his film "St. Joseph College".

St. Joe Prep Alumni Establish Scholarships
St. Joseph Preparatory School enjoyed a reputation as an academically excellent high school, and alumni of St. Joe Prep, which closed in 1968, want to contribute to the continuing excellence of Catholic education at Bethlehem High School.

The St. Joe Prep alumni have established the St. Joe Prep Alumni Association Scholarships with Bethlehem High School.

Each school year, the group will fund four $500 scholarships to help offset the cost of tuition at Bethlehem.  A student in each of the four academic years will receive one of the four scholarships.  Students who receive the scholarships will automatically be presented the scholarship in successive years, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to one each: a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior.  To be eligible, the family of the student must file a financial aid form, available at Bethlehem.

Criteria for receiving the scholarship include financial need, and the student must have a family connection to a St. Joe Prep alumnus.  Financial aid forms are sent to the Archdiocese, where the amount of eligible financial aid is determined.  Administrators at Bethlehem High School do not determine the family’s need for financial aid.

Once the initial scholarships have been awarded, the recipients will continue to receive the scholarships until they graduate.  Should a student leave Bethlehem before graduation, his or her scholarship would be awarded to a student in the same academic year.

The St. Joe Prep Alumni Association is making a $2000 annual commitment to help ensure the continuation of Catholic education.
