Larry Nally 1953

Dr. Larry Nally wanted to be an athlete, but his medium talent and body structure just wouldn't cooperate. High school testing revealed an aptitude tendency toward engineering. Attending Dayton University in 1953, he quickly discovered he didn't like engineering. He joined the Army. After joining, it was on an assignment visit to Tripler Army Hospital for a dental checkup, that the Oriental dentist exclaimed to Larry,  "Look at those long fingers, you've got to be a dentist".  Larry attended Bellamine College Pre-dental and graduated in June 1962 from Dental School. He practiced dentistry for 37 years in Bardstown, Ky. Larry has an usual hobby for a dentist. He started making candy in the 1950's. In the '80's, after several attempts and combinations Larry's bourbon fudge is marketed through the Monks at Gethsemani. His candy is their best seller. In the early 90"s Larry, with the help of  Romey Cecil, restarted the inactive alumni. He is a past president and wrote the newsletter for 2 years. As time marches on it is certainly a privilege to belong to the St. Joe Prep Alumni and keep memories and tradition of our great school alive. Although there will be a limit to it, we will share the blessing as long as we can. Larry contends that attending St. Joe Prep was one of the most important events of his life since the principles learned at St. Joe Prep helped him overcome several rough situations. Larry is married to Flaget, and they have 3 sons and 2 daughters.
