The much anticipated "A Time to Build" Campaign has finally been announced. Achieving our goal to raise $4 million or more for our school and parish will take a lot of hard work. The campaign Steering Committee wants our parishioners to be well informed and for each family to make a prayerful and sacrificial commitment. That's why the Steering Committee has been busy laying the groundwork for this very important endeavor. In fact, more than 150 households have already been involved in doing work to make this campaign a success. "The success of this project will depend on the volunteer leadership," said Father Bill, "and I believe we have assembled a great team." In fact quite a few folks have stepped up to take leadership positions including the following:
We are grateful to these individuals and their committee members for volunteering their time and talents to help make this campaign a success. We are fortunate to have people of such high caliber working hard and leading the way. The way this campaign is designed depends on the entire parish to get involved in some way. It simply cannot happen on the efforts of just a few. We are praying that our people will recognize God's blessings in their lives and respond to God's goodness by volunteering and by making a sacrificial commitment to the campaign. Over the coming weeks, we will be moving forward with a process that will involve the entire parish. There will be several activities of which we want you to be aware. They include the following: Informational Fellowship Meetings--You have been invited to one of these receptions that will be held in the school cafeteria. The meetings will last about an hour and a half and will be informational only. No one will be asked to make a financial commitment at these meetings, but you will have an opportunity to learn more and ask questions. If you were not reached by phone and want to attend one of these meetings, contact the parish office to make your reservation. Advance Commitment Meetings--Some families in the parish will be asked to make a financial commitment early, a few weeks in advance of Commitment Weekend. There will be meetings in parishioner's homes and Maywood to facilitate this. Again, no one will be asked to make a financial commitment at these meetings, they only will be asked to consider making their commitment before the rest of the parish. If you have not been contacted and want to volunteer to make your commitment early, please contact the parish office about attending one of these meetings. Commitment Weekend--This will be a time of celebration and commitment where everyone in the parish will have the opportunity to register their commitment to the "A Time to Build" Campaign. These are exciting times in our parish and school and we are confident that God will do great things during this campaign. God has blessed us greatly and this is an opportunity to give back. Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will move mightily in the hearts of our parish family and we will have a successful effort. |
