Easter Vigil

The Easter Vigil began outside with the lighting of the New Fire.

From this Fire the Paschal Candle and all the other candles were lit.

After processing into the church the Paschal Candle was blessed and the beautiful Exultet hymn was sung by Deacon John Hamilton.

Then we listened to the ancient stories of our faith from the Scripture and responded to each with song.

The Gospel story of the Resurrection was proclaimed followed by the homily. 

The Dawn has come!

Christ is risen!

Death no longer has any power over Him!

Baptismal water is blessed.

Those to be baptized and their sponsors are recognized.

Preparations are made for their Baptisms.

Children not being confirmed are anointed with Sacred Chrism.
