What our Church has to offer...
Administration
- Parish Council - two members elected each year for 3 year term to consult with pastor on pastoral needs and missions of our parish.
- St. Gregory School Board - two members elected each year for 3 year term to work with pastor and principal in guiding and directing our school.
- Stewardship Committee - Provides a process of parish members to offer their time, talent, and treasure as Christian way of life.
- Cemetery Committee - Plans and direct the up keep and development of our cemetery.
- St. Gregory Picnic Committee - Help plan summer picnic.
- Catholic Services Appeal - Coordinates the Archbishop's annually appeal at St. Gregory for ministries in our Archdiocese.
- Liturgy Committee - Help coordinate the prayer and liturgical ministries at Mass and in the devotional life of our parish.
Worship
- Lectors - Proclaim the word of God in weekend worship.
- Eucharistic Ministers - Distribute Communion to the faithful during Mass and take Communion to the sick and shut-ins of the parish on weekends.
- Ministers of Hospitality - Welcome and serve the congregation at weekend and holyday Masses.
- Servers - Assist the Priest and community during Mass.
- Art & Environment - Plans and arranges the decor of the church, seasonally and throughout the year.
- Youth Choir - Leads congregation in song at 10 AM Mass every other weekend.
- Organ Choir - Leads congregation in song at 10:00 a.m Mass (every other weekend).
- Cantors & Musicians - Cantor and singer, organist, pianist and instrumental musicians to lead in sung prayer.
- Eucharistic Adoration - Every first Friday evening, time spent in prayer and adoration with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament throughout the hours of the night.
- Home Prayer - Pray for the needs of our parish. Prayer literature is available in church.
- Sacristans - Volunteers who help prepare the church vessels, books, bread, wine, and other things before each Sunday Mass.
- Gift Bearers - Families and others who present the offertory gifts at Sunday Mass.
- Children's Church - Celebration of the Liturgy of the Word at 10 AM Mass with pre-school children.
Formation
- Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) - Process of preparing adults for the sacraments of initiation, i.e. Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion. Sponsors and team members needed.
- School volunteers - Volunteers to work with school children in many areas.
- Religious Education (CCD) - Open to all public school youths on Wednesday nights, grades 1-8. Teacher and aids always needed.
- Lifeteen (Youth Ministry) - A youth ministry with high school students from St. Gregory.
- Marriage Preparation - Sponsor couples meet with engaged couples in their home for 4 sessions.
- Respect Life - From conception to resurrection.
Service
- Altar Society - Assists in purchasing the altar supplies.
- Bereavement Committee - A) Food: Serves the needs of the families of those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. B) Choir: Lead the congregation in song at Funeral Masses.
- Church Cleaners - A) Weekly: Helpers who tidy up the church on Saturdays. B) Semi-annually: House clean the church before Christmas and Easter.
- Building and Grounds Volunteers - Handy with tools, skilled at building , fixing things or caring for flowers and shrubs.
- Parish Office Volunteers - Needs occasional assistance with phone answering, envelope stuffing and mailing.
- Parish Community Center Committee - Men and women willing to work, and/or help our parish to make the best possible use of our new multi-purpose building.
- Parent Teacher Organization - Very active organization planning many fundraisers throughout the year, as well as support to teachers.
- Senior Citizens - Meetings are the first Wednesday of the month. There is no age requirement and all are invited.
Additional Ministries
- St. Gregory Picnic - Many volunteers needed. A) Kitchen: Help to prepare and serve food. B) Dining Room: Help to serve and clean-up tables while people are dining. C) Booths: Volunteers to coordinate booths at picnic.
- Vacation Bible School - Assist in planning activities for one week in the summer.
- Miscellaneous - If you have any specific skill or talent you with to share with St. Gregory church that may not be included in any of the above.
