CWF.... Christian Women’s Fellowship: There are three CWF groups. The Night Group meets in homes for study, worship and fellowship at 7 p.m. on the 1st. Tuesday. The Afternoon Group meets at church on the 2nd Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Barbara’s Bunch, ( named for a former beloved Elder and the third group,) is attended mostly by younger ladies. They meet once a month at random times.
The main goal in all CWF groups is Missions in local, regional and international programs. Local ministries include Bereavement Dinners; Helping church family members in times of need; Project Graduation; Nelson Co. Volunteer Action & Bethany Haven; They contribute bi-annually to Basic Church Finance, thereby enabling them to be of help on a national and an international level as well. Regular fund raising events include a Spring Yard Sale, Fall Festival and various Love Offerings. These and other fund raising events provide the money that support their various missions. The entire church participates in the fund raisers with donations of items for the yard sale and attending and lending support for all the CWF sponsored events. All women of the church are members of the CWF by virtue of their membership in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Bardstown. Active membership is an individual decision.
CMF.... Christian Men’s Fellowship:
CMF is a group of men who volunteer to help people in need. They offer rides to church members, at times going to the grocery, doing yard work, even helping with leaky faucets, whatever. This "doing " group also conducts pancake breakfasts and pizza suppers.
The CMF tries to involve all the church in their activities and the money earned goes to various church projects. Each year the CMF also sponsors Charity Golf Tournament for a local community ministry. The CMF meets the 3rd Saturday every month. All men of the church are welcome.
D-CAF.... Disciples Christian Adult Fellowship:
D-CAF is a fellowship for adults who are free during the day. The D-CAFFERS who are mostly retired, meet to enjoy fellowship with games, lunch and short trips with other Christians. Upon occasion this group will meet with adult groups from other churches. They meet the 2nd. Tuesday of each month.
